Natural vegetable juice can do wonders and it is effective against inflammation in your body and yet so few people find the time to make it themselves.
However, for those of you who are willing to live healthier, there are plenty of juice recipes who are delicious, easy to make and highly nutritious.
Below is a simple juice recipe for a popular Venezuelan beverage called jugo tres en uno (three in one juice). It is tasty, refreshing, helps against inflammation, and you’ll only need an orange, beet, and carrots.
Orange, beet, and carrot juice recipe
Ingredients:
4 organic oranges (any size)
1 organic beet (any size)
2 organic carrots (any size)
Optional: 1 tablespoon honey, liquid stevia, or any natural sweetener of your choice
Instructions:
Wash, peel, and/or prepare the oranges, beet, and carrots, as desired.
Place the oranges, beet, and carrots in a juicer and extract their juice, or you can even mix the ingredients in a blender to desired consistency.
If prefer you can add natural sweetener.
Serve immediately.
This recipe shouldn’t take up more than 5 minutes of your time.
Of course, you can change how many oranges, beets, or carrots you use in the recipe. You may, for example, use fewer oranges so that your beverage won’t be too sweet, and substitute those oranges with celery, which is packed with vitamin C but low in sugar. Also, to lower the effect on blood sugar, consume the beverage just before you ear and this will limit the release of glucose in your blood.
Oranges
Rich in potassium, vitamins C, B, and flavonoids (a kind of antioxidants), this juicy fruit is already popular for its many health-giving properties.
The flavonoids the orange contains eases chronic inflammation and wards off other chronic maladies such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and dementia.
Beets
Beets are packed with thiamine (vitamin B1), but are also rich in anti-inflammatory antioxidants, minerals like manganese, and nitrates. The beet’s antioxidants have been confirmed to help against inflammation and ease oxidative stress and can also be beneficial against chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.
Carrots
Carrots, like the previous two, is also packed with anti-inflammatory qualities and contains minerals like iron, potassium, and magnesium, and is rich in vitamin A and carotenes. Vitamin A, along with fighting inflammation, can sharpen your vision, especially in those who have a deficiency of this vitamin. Moreover, vitamin A maintains your eyesight through the years and deters any potential age-related eye disorders.
