Anemia refers to the reduction in the normal number of red blood cells(RBCs) or less than the normal amount of hemoglobin in the blood. Myelodysplastic syndromes have a median survival duration of less than a year to about 12 years without therapy, depending on characteristics including chromosome abnormalities and red blood cell levels. Treatment, especially for some kinds of this illness, is generally successful. Most people go on to enjoy normal, healthy lives after therapy. Anemia, on the other hand, can have long-term or even life-threatening consequences. If the illness is chronic, severe, or untreated, these are more likely.

Foods to eat –
Cashew nuts, chickpeas, collard greens, dried fruit, figs, fish, ginger, grapes, green, leafy vegetables, raisins, Romaine lettuce, sesame seeds, spinach, tomatoes, walnuts, wheat germ, whole grain cereals.
Prevention and treatment
- Avoid consuming tea and coffee right away after meals because the tannin found in these interferes with the absorption of iron from food.
- Eat fresh apple juice right before bed or half an hour before a meal. To properly absorb the juice, the stomach should be relatively empty and not have eaten anything for at least 30 minutes.
- Anemia can be treated with beetroot juice. Apples can be added to the juice as well.
- 1-2 times a day, eat a ripe banana with 1 tbsp honey as a remedy.
- 10-12 currants should be soaked in water overnight. Remove the seeds and consume them. This should be consumed for 2-4 weeks.
- Every day, consume at least 100 grams of raw or cooked green leafy vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, celery, and fenugreek.
